| Promark Television, announced today that its new action/adventure fantasy
drama series, The Secret Adventures of Jules Verne, produced
entirely in HDTV format debuts in syndication this month.
Company president David Levine said, The Secret Adventures Of Jules
Verne is the only one hour series of its kind being offered in HDTV. Produced
at Icestorm studios in Montreal Canada by Talisman Crest and Filmline
International, the series is based on the writings of 19th century author
and futurist Jules Verne.
Each week Verne and his fellow adventurers, Phileas Fogg, Rebecca Fogg
and Passepartout board the flying machine the Aurora spanning the globe
on a worldwide quest of discovery, danger, adventure and romance.
Talisman president, Richard Jackson said, The eye popping special
effects and re-creations of exotic 19th century locales are enhanced by
the new HD technology.
Jackson, explained, The Secret Adventures of Jules Verne represents
a new standard in high-tech television. Housed in a digitally integrated,
100,000 square-foot facility designed specifically for the project, the
Icestorm Studios employ cutting-edge 21st-century technology to bring
to life the most vivid and futuristic imagination of the 19th century,
that of Jules Verne.
In addition to boasting one of the largest green-screen stages in North
America, the Icestorm facility houses five extensive sound stages on which
are established the extraordinary permanent sets for the series - including
the authentic PARIS STREET and the AURORAS GONDOLA (Phileas Foggs
legendary flying machine) he said.
Jackson explained, Our team of gifted designers, computer artists
and construction crews have brought everything from the streets of old
Paris to steam powered space vehicles to life in this action packed series.
Talisman Crest and Filmline Internationals production credits include
Highlander - the Series, Indiana Jones Chronicles as well as big screen
hits Rob Roy and The Art Of War.
